Lion: A Review

HELLOOOO! How are you all doing?

So last night, I saw the movie Lion. OH. MY. GOODNESS. It was SO good, and SO sad and moving, and really well done. I cried throughout lots of it, to be honest.

For those of you who don't know, Lion is a movie about a boy who is on a train when suddenly it starts to move, and he ends up being lost, away from his family, for 25 years. Oh, man. I'm honestly not sure how to put into words how and what the movie made me feel, but here goes. I'm going to try anyways.

*MAY contain SPOILERS*

It honestly made me feel grateful, for the life I have, and upset that this boy (and maybe others, I don't know) had to go through this. Cause it's based on a true story, and the main storyline and characters and all were real (well they were actors but the characters were real people). Which is crazy.

Imagine being 5, and lost all alone in a big place like a railway station. And then, waking up and the train is moving. And THEN, when you finally get off (after 2 days!) having no clue where you are and NOT SPEAKING THE LANGUAGE! AT 5! I just can't imagine what this boy had to go through, and the agony he must have felt being separated from his family and searching for them for so long. Once he started to look on Google Earth, in his 20s, it took him 5 YEARS to find them. 5 years!

And also, the fact that this is such a plausible situation. Like, it wasn't crazy unheard of, or weird to think, that this little boy, who couldn't find his brother, hopped onto a train to sleep and then didn't wake up until after it was moving. When you think about it, it could happen to anyone. Anyone could hop onto a train, thinking it wouldn't start moving and that they could come off, when it suddenly starts to move. And even now, with phones being more popular and available, it's not like any 5 year old kid is necessarily going to know their parents phone numbers!

Anyways. If you haven't seen it, I would 10/10 recommend. Just be ready to cry, cause you will, I have no doubt about that. But definitely see it if you haven't, it's a really powerful film, and I loved it. However, if you're in the mood for a comedy, maybe not the best plan, cause you will end up crying instead of laughing...but if you're up for a really, really good movie, one that will make you feel something and connect with the characters, then this one is for you!!

ALSO. Anyone else excited for Dunkirk (the movie)? I know I am! I think I'm going later this week. If any of you see it, let me know what you think! It's gotten really great reviews up till now (9.8/10 I'm pretty sure!).

That's all for now. How are your summers going? And has anyone else seen Lion? What did you think? Comment your thoughts below, I'm really interested to hear some other opinions as well :)

Till next time!
