Good evening all!! :) Hope you’re doing well!! As we approach the end of July, I’m here with a list of all the books I am hoping to read during August!! I will, of course, review them all once I’m finished - let me know if a reading vlog at some point would be something you’d be interested in seeing as well! I’ve seen a few of those and they seem pretty fun. ANYWAYS. I’m likely going to have more time this month to read - fingers crossed. We’ll see what happens. So, here it is :) 1. Own the Day, Own Your Life by Aubrey Marcus  I’ve had this one for a year or two now, and have been slowly making my way through. It’s got a lot of good info in it, but whenever I sit down to read it tends to be more fiction than anything if I’m honest, cause it’s been more to unwind as of late. But I am determined to finally finish it this month! And I’m hoping to read more nonfiction this month as well (as you can probably tell by the rest of this list haha). 2. Factfulness by Hans Rosling  Soo...

3 Life Lessons That Can Be Learned From Harry Potter

HELLOOO!! Sorry this is late again  :( but ladies and gents, in light of the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter that happened last week, I bring to you...life lessons from Harry Potter!!  1.  true friendship wins over everything, so be loyal. Examples of this: fights that the three have (such as Ron and hermione in the Goblet of Fire), and all of their loyalty in pretty much every book, since they always come out alive in the end! Stay true to your friends who will stick with you till the end.  2.  believe in yourself and you'll do it. Harry had no idea how to get the Philosophers stone from quirrel/Voldemort, but he believed in himself and in the end, he did! He was also the youngest seeker in like half a century for quidditch, but he never doubted himself and he became an amazing quidditch player! Never doubt your capability, cause you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to.  3.  when in doubt, go to the library ...

Sarah Dessen - Dreamland

HELLO!! Sorry I didn't post yesterday. :/ I meant to, but I'm here now, so that's what counts, right? :) Anyways. I've been reading much more recently, and this last book really hit me hard. So I thought I'd pop on here and do a quick review of it. *Warning - may contain spoilers* (I tried not to though). Sarah Dessen is one of my favourite authors to begin with. I love (and own) quite a few of her books. I was recently at the library, and borrowed like 4 or 5 more, and this last one - Dreamland - I finished the other night. Oh, man. First, I need to say, that at the start, I wasn't so sure about this particular book. A few chapters in, I wasn't all that into it. Probably had something to do with the fact that I couldn't really relate to the character. If I didn't want to become a cheerleader, chances are I probably wouldn't. But this character - Caitlin - let herself be pressured into it by her best friend. Yes, I get it. You're consta...

How To Prepare For Exams Like Hermione Granger

Image
HEEEY Y'ALL. Sorry I didn't post last week :((((( I'm trying to get better, I promise!  BUT ANYWAYS. For this week's post, I thought I'd do an exams post, with a little harry potter theme (cause who doesn't love HP? And I've been rereading them lol). So, without further ado, let's get into it!  1.   Start early!   Hermione literally always seems to be studying, or doing homework of some sort. And I mean, it clearly works for her. So if you're looking to do well, it's time to take a page out of her book (or rather, JK Rowling's... *insert smirking face*).  2. Speaking of books, read everything you can. She literally reads everything, and you should do the same! If that means your whole textbook, well, that'll only help you out. Remember that. And reading will help you become a better writer, to boot!   3.  Don't lower your standards for yourself, rather, raise them. Hermione never expected less than perfection from ...

We Were Liars | Book Review

Hey guys!! How are you all? My week was crazy. I was busy and sick this past week...let's hope that's all over soon though. I had to bail on a lot in order to get better, and I felt super bad about that...but I needed that time off to recover. There's a sickness going around right now, I don't know if any of you have caught it, but most people I know have been sick unfortunately...including me :( I'm feeling much better now, though! Song Of The Day: Ours (by Taylor Swift) - GO LOOK IT UP ON YOUTUBE. It's so good. It's catchy, happy, and puts me in an all around good mood. Anyways. I was at the library after school one day doing homework and all of a sudden I was like "OMG. I'm in a library, I should check out some books!" And my friend was like "LOL okay go ahead, you should"... so I did. I finished the first one Friday night. It was so good oh my goodness. It's called "We Were Liars" and it's about this gi...
