Field Hockey!

Image
HEY GUYS!! So...I have been MIA for awhile...and I'm VERY sorry. Things have just gotten so busy, and I keep telling myself I'll post...but I never do. I think I'll keep posting to when I do something new though, not every week. I don't like to make promises I can't keep. Sorry about that though :( Anyways. Recently, I've had the chance to join a field hockey team...and I'm actually really enjoying it. Now, I know what most people say: Field hockey. Isn't that just ice hockey on a field? But NO!!! It isn't. At all, actually. For one, field hockey is actually quite civilized. If you turn your back on your opponent, that's a foul, or 'obstruction'. There can be no more than one person against another at a time. That's called 'third party'. Sticks can't hit against sticks. That's 'hacking'. And the ball can't hit your feet in any way, shape, or form. So, it's actually quite cool!! But don...

90 Day Challenge!

HALLO! So, for this week, I decided to write about something I'm taking part in: The 90 Day Challenge. Now, I'm not doing it to the point where I submit my story to win money or anything (find out more here ), I'm not that hardcore. However, I am trying for 90 days straight of a fitness activity (such as working out) each day. So I've been doing it for about 5 days so far, and really, I'm rockin' it! Usually I'll go swim several lengths, or workout for an hour or so. Most often it has been working out, because that means I get to watch TV too. Really, there is no downside to that. I mean, usually people are worried about sitting down for too long while watching TV...but if you're working out...you don't have to worry about that! Does anyone else do this or am I the only one? Anyways, the 90 Day challenge has been great so far - and if you are thinking about doing it as well I highly encourage you to do so. You don't have to do it formally, by...

Fitbit Review!

Hi guys! First off, I am so, so, so sorry I haven't posted in three weeks. It's just been so busy, and whenever there's a good time to post, I'm not in wifi :( BUT I'm posting now! So...on with the post! Recently, I got a Fitbit Charge HR. I just wanted to let you guys know how this is going, and give my review on it so far. As well, this counts as a new thing as I'm quite new to the Fitbit :) So, let's start! The Fitbit is a tracking device which tracks your exercise stats (such as number of steps, calories burned, flights climbed, hours slept, your heart rate, etc...different fitbits track different things though). You wear mine as a wristband (there is also a couple that are clips), and then sync it to your computer at the end of the day. When you first get your fitbit, you sign up on fitbit.com, and then whenever you sync it to your laptop, it puts all the stats on your dashboard. It's a really great way to keep track of your health, I think. M...

Flashback week - Making Cootie Catchers!

Hey guys! So I'm going to do one of these weeks every now and then - a flash back week. It'll basically be something that I haven't done in awhile, that I did when I was younger, so it's like it's 'new'. And it'll also be something that I think other people probably also did when they were younger. Also, I'm so so so sorry I didn't post on Sunday as usual...but anyways. ON WITH THE POST! I don't know about you guys, but when I was younger I absolutely loved making what we called 'cootie catchers' or 'fortune tellers'. I don't know what it was about them, maybe it was the fact that such a cool contraption was made of a simple piece of paper, or maybe I just liked controlling other people's future. But I always really enjoyed creating them. So for this week, I decided to make a few and try them out, sharing my experience and fun with you guys. To make one, you can either print off a template or make your own! You make ...

RANDOM FUN STUFF-DRAW A STICKMAN!

Be creative every day. This is the message at the end of your stick man's journey. Ah, but this is just the beginning! First, I am so, so sorry I am late in posting...I've been so busy! For this week, I decided to go for a more fun new thing, that everyone can try. I went to drawastickman.com. This is a website which allows you to create your own stick-person, and take it on a journey of its own! You can see your stick-person come to life, and as it goes along it asks you to draw things in so that it can defeat the mighty dragons, beasts, or whatever may come its way. And the best part is? You don't even have to be an amazing artist! I know that some of my drawings weren't the best - one ladder rung was crooked at the top, and my key did not look the best either - but the cheerful stickman I created didn't judge. He still used them to the best of his ability. On the contrary, you can also be as creative and elaborate as you like. I even saw one person who'd draw...

Lifestyle: Try a new sport (cricket)

Earlier this year, I had the chance to join a cricket team for players who were new to the game. I had never really played cricket, and I thought it would be cool. I joined the team, and it was super fun! The rules were a bit like baseball. There are 2 batters, who are on opposite sides of the pitch. One is batting, while the other gets ready to run. There’s also a bowler, who throws the ball to the batter. However, we had to learn a specific way to bowl – it involved a straight arm, which was tricky. Our throws were off at first, not going anywhere near the batter, but eventually we began to get the hang of it. Batting was also something we had to learn, and it wasn't as easy as it sounds. You have to be in a certain position, ready to block and hit as many balls as you can. There are also fielders, however, the majority of our practices were spent on how to bat and bowl. We practiced every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The times weren't always specific, som...
